 | Keeping the Original "Top Ten" Web-Based Business Commandments
7 Sep 2004
Standing on the steps of the impressive new, neo-Classic Columbia County Justice Center in booming Evans, Georgia, company founder Michael Welsh announced the official launch of Ten For US(TM), a Web-based business centered on the Bible's Ten Commandments. The company's Web site addresses the very real and present threat of the eventual eradication of God's Ten Commandments from America's schools and public facilities by those who misconstrue the so-called doctrine of "separation of church and state." But, rather than assume a negative and combative position, Mr. Welsh has chosen instead to reinforce the Judeo-Christian principles espoused in God's Holy Word by helping us "write His laws on the tablets of our hearts and minds." (www.TenForUS.com) "This organization is dedicated to promoting God's Ten Commandments through the merchandising of Ten For US(TM) logo items -- clothing, license plates, bumper stickers, etc. -- and the active sharing of ideas and concerns with the worldwide community through our online forum," explained Mr. Welsh. "Our slogan -- Know it, Show it, Live it(TM) -- is the basis to counter the drive to sideline the Ten Commandments. People need to know them and display them -- but the most important part is to live them," asserted Mr. Welsh. New York City entrepreneur Alex Goldstein, Michael Welsh's college dorm-mate at the University of Georgia, is an observant Jew who helped Welsh conceptualize the Web-based format and overall Ten For US(TM) business plan. "Even though we may differ on some points of theology and religious doctrine, Jews and Christians share many of the basic beliefs and principles laid down in the Old Testament, or Torah," offered Mr. Goldstein. "And the Ten Commandments that God wrote with his own finger on tablets of stone -- and gave to us all through the prophet Moses -- are the cornerstone of our faith." Dick Sheets, a former Augusta-area Christian artist who now lives in Richmond, Va., designed the unique, red-white-and-blue logo. |
